A student who went to school with a backpack full of cash, to the tune of $20,000, drew attention when she started handing out money to her friends. The principal called the police, who confiscated the money until they can investigate, according to ABC Action News on Wednesday March 13, 2013.
The sixth grader was very generous with this 20k that she said she “got from a friend of hers across the street from her home in her Taylor, Mich. neighborhood. After handing out $200 to one friend and $500 to another, the cash went down to the police station until someone can come forth with a “reasonable explanation” as to how they got this money and then it will be returned to them.
It's not everyday that a kid brings this kind of money to school. Even the explanation about the friend from across the street giving it to this 12-year-old girl sounds awfully sketchy. At least the youngster was generous by sharing her windfall with her school buddies.
