This weekend, come on down to the 11th annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Walk and Canine Festival. The event, sponsored by the Humane Society of Richland County, is being held at the Richland County Fairgrounds located at 750 North Home Road in Mansfield, Ohio. Bring your dog, (she needs to be on a leash) and you’ll both have a fun time!
There will be activities for you and your dog, food, raffles, vendors, rescues, a cornhole tournament and a rummage and bake sale. There will also be dock diving presented by Buckeye DockDogs.
Activities on Saturday include a dog costume contest (10 a.m.). The contest includes Best Costume, Best in Show, Best Trick, Best Hair and Best Look-A-Like. There will also be a pet parade at 11 a.m. and an agility demo at 1 a.m.
Sunday’s events include a 5k (9 a.m.) and a dog walk-a-thon and parade, for those who cannot attend on Saturday.
The Buckeye DockDogs diving competitions will be held both days. Watch canine athletes perform the Big Air long jump and the Extreme Vertical high jump contest. See the schedule for all events in the photo above.
The hours are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th. The event will be held either rain or shine.
The admission charge is $1 or a donation at the gate. The following items are needed by the Humane Society: non-clumping cat litter, paper towels, bleach, 13/30 gallon trash bags, HE laundry detergent and toilet paper.
Donations for this benefit can also be made by paypal, credit card, check or cash. All donations are tax deductible.
