For the second-straight year, the women's bowling team from Prairie View A&M University is hosting some of the nation's best squads at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington.
The Prairie View Invitational is taking place this weekend at the home of bowling's Team USA and other major events. Ten of the 12 teams participating are among the top 20 in the nation including five in the top 10.
Top-ranked Central Missouri, No. 2 Maryland-Eastern Shore, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Nebraska and No. 7 Arkansas State highlight the field.
“I'm excited about this weekend's tournament from a both competitive and personal standpoint,” said Prairie View head coach Glenn White. “We have several of the nation's best teams in attendance so the atmosphere will be intense. Also, the tourney exposes the Prairie View A&M bowling program to another part of the state as it showcases the team and university. Once again, I would like to thank the Prairie View A&M family and alumni for their support.”
Competition started Friday afternoon, continues Saturday and concludes Sunday. The entire event will be streamed live on the United States Bowling Congress' BowlTV.
