Strong earthquake reported in Baja California

A 5.2 preliminary magnitude earthquake struck in central Baja Caifornia Sunday morning, December 4th.    The tremor occurred at a depth of 6.3 miles, and was located as follows:

 53 km (32 miles) WNW of Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico

138 km (85 miles) SSE of Santa Rosalia, Baja Calif. Sur, Mexico

216 km (134 miles) SSW of Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico

1499 km (931 miles) WNW of MEXICO CITY, D.F., 

The epicenter is also located roughly 1000 miles south-southeast of Los Angeles.  The time of the event was 7:35 am Los Angeles time. Damage and injury details are unavailable at this time.
