Guests of Grapevine's Parr Park need to keep a watchful eye out for a new gang set to descend on the city's expansive playground and trail area. Although this new gang will not be displaying any aggressive behavior or flashing shady hand signs, they are a group of focused and strong individuals with a goal in mind.
And they will be pushing strollers.
Beginning August 5th, Stroller Strides will be offering a class location in Grapevine at the beautiful Parr Park. Farrah Agado is the owner of this franchise and is eager to share the Stroller Strides experience with others. Farrah has recently decided to become a stay-at-home mom (she has a two year old son) and wanted a way to bring in income for her family and make a difference for others. Her love for fitness lead her to the Stroller Strides organization. She will be opening the Grapevine location of Stroller Strides on August 5th. Farrah was kind enough to answer a few questions about Stroller Strides and about her new location opening next month at Parr Park in Grapevine.
Please share with the readers of Examiner.com some information about the Stroller Strides program.
Stroller Strides was started by a SAHM named Lisa Druxman. Originally started in San Diego, Stroller Strides is now in many locations. Stroller Strides is a fitness class for moms (or dads, nannies, grandmas, or any caregiver) who want a chance to work-out and bring baby (or toddler) along. Classes are an hour long and consist of a warm-up, various stations to do body toning, cardio bursts, and strength training through the use of resistance bands (provided by Farrah at each class). Classes are held outside unless the weather prevents meeting outdoors. Stroller Strides partners with Luna Moms Club. There is usually a playgroup for the kids and moms after class. Membership to Luna Moms club is offered free to Stroller Strides members.
What equipment is needed for the class?
Moms will want to have a stroller or infant carrier for young children. Older children are allowed to follow along on bikes or scooters, as long as they stay with the class. Resistance tubes are provided.
