In what has turned into the most highly anticipated “BLOW OUT” or in this case “ K O” of the 2013 Strikehard Productions mixed martial arts season, Strikehard is bringing to MMA fans – SHP 30. Coming to you live from the Bobby Miller Activity Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Saturday, September 7 – Strikehard will be presenting their final MMA show of 2013. Mixed Martial Arts fans don’t have to worry though, SHP is only taking a brief hiatus for football season and will be back once again leading the MMA scene as Alabama’s Top MMA Promotion in 2014. Rumors are swirling that Strikehard will be even bigger and better in 2014 with the mma promotion venturing into new cities in Alabama. As for 2013, Strikehard hosted Pro/Amateur MMA events in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, and Orange Beach. In addition, Strikehard also held 2 grappling tournaments in Alabaster at Thompson Middle/High School.
Scheduled to step into the ring Saturday night as the MAIN event are PRO MMA fighters in the welterweight division Matt Ward and Ben Brewer. Ward has a PRO record of 1:0 while Brewer has a PRO record of 3:1. Ward is a brown belt and trains at Triad Mixed Martial Arts in Cullman, Alabama. Triad is one of Alabama’s most respected and highly reputable schools, and Matt Ward will definitely be representing his training facility very well. Triad is known throughout the Southeast as a very highly respected, disciplined and professional martial arts academy. In addition, Matt teaches MMA in the Huntsville area at Riviera Fitness MMA. This will be Matts’ first fight since getting married in May and Ward fans are eagerly anticipating his return to the cage. His opponent, Ben “The Ruler” Brewer is a very well known fighter out of Hohenwald, Tennessee. With a 22:2 ammy record, Brewer is no stranger to the ring. Saturday night will be Ben’s first time back in the cage since Milwalkee, and his fans are also eagerly awaiting his return.
(On a side note---it seems there has been some “Trash Talking” by the Brewer fans this week. A few of the trolls from Tennessee have been utilizing their keyboard warrior skills in MMA Alabama FB Group. As one troll on the page stated “This is the real battle between Alabama and Tennessee right here?” – so this fight alone will definitely be talked about for years to come)
Not to be outdone the COMAIN event for Saturday night is also going to be a battle in the 125 lb bantamweight division – PRO MMA fighters Sean Hall and Varon “Mighty Moe” Webb.
