The San Jose based mixed martial arts promotion Strikeforce has teamed up with M-1 Global for this 8-bout fight card that is headlined by #1-ranked heavyweight Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko (31-1) and two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Fabricio "Vai Cavalo" Werdum (13-4) at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on June 26.
"The fans in San Jose have responded for this awesome fight card," said Scott Coker, president and CEO of Strikeforce. "All this week, ticket sales have been tracking as well as ever. We are proud to announce that HP Pavilion earlier today opened up a few sections to accommodate demand with some tickets still available from $35. I think we are going to blow the roof off the Shark Tank Saturday night."
This card also features an exciting women's MMA bout and title defense between reigning Strikeforce women's featherweight champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos (9-1) and Jan "Cuddles" Finney (8-7). (Click here to read the fight prediction!)
Also highly anticipated is the rematch between former Strikeforce Champion turned movie star Cung Le and current champion Scott Smith.
Last but certainly not least on the televised main card is Pat Healy vs. Josh Thomson before four undercard bouts put eight up-and-coming MMA fighters in the spot light.
The main card will air live on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast). Strikeforce tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.
