'Strike Suit Zero' released as first Xbox One ID@Xbox indie title

Xbox One finally got its first indie title Tuesday as the Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut from Born Ready Games was released to the Xbox Store.

Strike Suit Zero is a space flight combat title that got its start as a Kickstarter funded game before being released to the PC in January 2013. Born Ready jumped on board the indie developer programs for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 though with a Director's Cut version of the game.

The title is a story-driven single-player only title that spans 13 missions as players pilot their Strike Suits, spacecraft that can transform into robots a la Gundam or Robotech, and engage in large scale space battles involving fighter craft and large capital ships.

Strike Suit Zero is $19.99 and will be released to the PS4 later Tuesday as well for the same price. It is joined by Kinect Sports Rivals and LEGO Hobbit on the Xbox Store as well. You can check out Examiner's review of Kinect Sports Rivals here.

The ID@Xbox program allows indie developers to self-publish their games and apps to the Xbox One. The release of Strike Suit Zero marks the official launch of the program with more games coming in the future according to Microsoft.
