Striding Lion Performance Group performs 'Wide Open: Dances of Land and Love'

Striding Lion Performance Group, known for its dynamic theatricality, and Enid Smith Dance, known for its virtuosic clarity, bring their unique approaches to the moving body together in a shared evening of performance. Featuring solo and group works by Annie Arnoult Beserra, Adriana Durant and Enid Smith, the evening focuses on themes of property lines, personal boundaries, ownership and loss.

Enid Smith's new work 'Acre explores the ideas of property lines, fences, and land worth fighting for. The music for the piece is a mixture of electronic, soundscape, and classic country, including works by Fires Were Shot, Bill Frisell, and Willie Nelson. Jonathan Hey, a pianist, composer, and sound designer from Chicago created an original soundscape for the work. Performing with Enid in the piece are long-time company members Jaime Henry-Juravic and Melissa Sanchez and new company member Sarah Long.
