Type II Diabetes is mainly because of the bad food choices one makes. It is not only about eating the right foods, but it is trying not too add to the damage that has been done to your body. As I have mentioned in past articles, when you have Type II Diabetes your body is being put in overdrive; working extra to create more insulin that your body needs. For example, if a person was to weigh 200lbs, all your organs would have to work more than if you weighed 130lbs. Try to imagine yourself running really fast for a long period of time and how long it would take to catch your breath. That is what your body is doing everyday you make bad food choices. Sure, you can take a pill and maybe feel better. However, wouldn't it be better to not have to take medicine and give your body a chance to recover.
Here is something you can try, put your mind and body into the decisions you make. Try to say no to the foods that are loaded with carbs, which is sugar. Try to eat healthier foods for one week and see how you feel. I will give you one of my favorite filler ups. 1 can of chickpeas, 1 can of olives, and mix it with feta cheese. That could be a really good lunch. Also, play around with spices to your desire and what you like. If you like peanut butter and jelly, put it on a cracker instead of bread. Have cereal in the morning instead of donuts or bagels. If you have a bagel only have half. Try this for a week. I guarantee you will feel different.
