Street Theatre Company brings Nashville the hit musical “Cats” as the first of two 2013 “In Concert” productions. Running on Broadway for an astounding eighteen years and winning a Tony for Best Musical, “Cats” tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
STC’s production features all of the beloved songs in an “In Concert” style performance which has become one of STC’s most popular innovations. The cast features area favorites including Nancy Allen as Grizabella, Michael Kitts as Rum Tum Tugger, Shawn Lewis as Old Deuteronomy, and features STC newcomer Tyler Evick as Munkustrap, along with a cast of 30 singers.
The show will also feature another exciting event. At each performance, Nashville Cat Rescue will have cats available for adoption on hand, and thanks to partnerships with the Nashville Humane Association and Pet Community Center, there will also be information on other pet resources!
“Cats” In Concert runs February 20-24 for six performances only. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for students and seniors. For specific show information and to purchase tickets, visit Street Theatre's website. Performances are at Street Theatre, 1933 Elm Hill Pike, just off Briley Parkway.
