What is street racing?
According to wikipedia, "Street racing is a form of unsanctioned and illegal auto racing which takes place on public roads. Street racing can either be spontaneous or well-planned and coordinated. Well coordinated races, in comparison, are planned in advance and often have people communicating via 2-way radio/citizens' band radio and using police scanners and GPS units to mark locations of local police hot spots.[original research?] Street racing is reported to have originated prior to the 1930s due to alcohol prohibition in some parts of the United States cite a lack of safety relative to sanctioned racing events, as well as legal repercussions arising from incidents, among street racing's drawbacks. Most duels are drag races."- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_racing
Performance parts, tuning, and racing is quicky catching the world by storm. You can find plenty of street events anywhere in the world. The most popular parts of the world for street performance and tuning are USA, Japan, and Europe. The innovations being created from this new world order of performance is amazing. Take a look around and you will see that not only is racing taking place in your backyard, but it's capturing the world as whole! Over seas people are actually doing this more often because the police aren't accustomed to cracking down on street racers. The old design of roads, multiple alleys, and easy get away routes make it easier for people like "suicider" and "ghost rider" to do what they do! Helicopters can't see into the thick urban areas that exist over seas.

The future of high speed fun in USA
Street racing in the United States was catching on pretty quick but due to law enforcement "cracking down" on this activity it's being extinguished. There isn't as many street racing events anymore, but there is still the need for speed. The United States needs an authobahn type road to connect north and south, east and west. A special type of license and training would be required to use the USA autobahn. There is no current known plans for this to happen, but performance enthusiasts nationwide know it's comming! Maybe Obama's new transporation plan includes some kind of high speed transit other than rail? I doubt it. For now, over seas is the place to be for street racing.
WARNING! Illegal racing also has a negative side and it is illegal for a reason! Each year, thousands of people die from illegal racing. Even though these videos are "cool" to watch, don't do it yourself. The people in these videos got lucky and didn't die or kill any innocent people in the process. Thanks for the Evo Street Racers lead! After reading your article I visited their website and I think their program is awesome. They really understand why we do it and what it will take to get us off the street and onto the track. I wouldnt mind increased laws assuming those same politicians spend equal if not more time in creating affordable options for me to race legally. It is for this reason why I now support Evo Street Racers. Thanks for the article!
