According to the Calgary Flames website, Calgary Flames' prospect Ben Street of the Abbotsford Heat has been named the American Hockey League's player of the month for November.

Street led all players in the American Hockey League, the top farm league for the National Hockey League, with 11 goals and 19 points in 15 games.

Street, a 26 year-old center, has played in a career high eight games for the Flames this season, and registered his second career National Hockey League assist on a goal by Lance Bouma in Calgary's 5-4 loss to the Washington Capitals in the Flames' opening night of the season.

Street, a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, also has the chance to play professional hockey close to home, as Coquitlam and Abbotsford are both located near Vancouver.

The Heat meanwhile continue to lead the American Hockey League standings with a record of 17-6-2. They have a two point lead over the Manchester Monarchs for the overall league lead and a ten point lead over the Texas Stars in the West Division.
