An abandoned dog was rescued after woman spotted her huddling under a truck on Google Maps Street View. Jennifer Velasquez called the Los Angeles Hope for Paws chapter and gave them the address where she saw the dog all alone on the street via the Google Street View, according to Metro U.K. on Sept. 12.
Eldad Hager, from Hope for Paws, picked up the dog. It wasn't easy at first as this stray dog was very shy and standoffish. The dog had not left the spot outside of the abandoned building since Velasquez caught a glimpse of the dog on Google's Street View. Bits and pieces of a cheeseburger worked to finally lure the lonely canine out from under the vehicle.
She remained a bit distant for a little while, but then warmed up. She was soon cuddling up to her rescuer. The dog was named Sonya and she has become an Internet sensation today. Check out her rescue video above.
The abandoned dog had a complete examine and she was shaved and bathed. Sonya’s health examine showed the dog had tumors and she also had arthritis so bad, that the vet said she would probably not have gotten up again because her arthritis was so bad. Medication and treatment, such as acupuncture was started right away and she is responding well to this. Today Sonya has many people around her that care.
