Authorities are searching for the person who left a severely malnourished dog tied up on the sixth level passenger drop-off area at the Denver International Airport late last week reported Channel 9News.
The dog was wearing a collar and leash, but was not microchipped.
The friendly mixed-breed dog captured the hearts of airport workers, who took her over to Burger King for a chicken sandwich and then to Panda Express for some rice. Employees had considered calling Animal Control, but hesitated because they thought the dog might be euthanized at the shelter if she was sick.
So what happens when a stray dog finds her way into the United Airlines section of the airport? Their motto of being customer focused obviously applies to the four-legged passengers too; United Airlines employee Mike Scott took her home. After a visit to his veterinarian who said the dog was extremely undernourished, it might appear that this lucky pooch may have snuggled her way into the "Friendly Skies of United."
Although Mike Scott told Channel 9 reporters he wasn't taking anymore dogs, this one may have found her new home. Scott recently lost his 13-year-old dog to cancer; dogs work in mysterious ways.
Here's to you Mike. We hope you two make a good match and are together.
