"Stranded in Paradise', a tropical romance, premiered on Hallmark Channel on August 9, 2014. The romance was filmed on location in the balmy tropical escape of Puerto Rico, which provides a beautiful backdrop to the story of love and possibilities. The original Hallmark film, based on the novel of the same name by Lori Copeland, stars Vanessa Marcil and James Denton.

Tess Nelson (Marcil) is a driven human resources executive who expects a well-deserved promotion but is blindsided when she is fired by her boss. She is understandably furious and her demanding mother, Mona (Cindy Pickett) only adds to her stress.

She decides to use a business trip to a HR convention in Puerto Rico to score a new career, but the trip is a disaster. An impending hurricane makes it impossibl for her to catch a flight home. Tess runs into a handsome fellow traveler, Carter (Denton) who raises new possibilities and helps her to think beyond her desk job. They befriend a local woman, Stella (Gladys Rodriguez), who generously offers shelter in luxurious surroundings.

Tess sees taking an unanticipated risk could lead her to a happiness she never dreamed of, and a love that goes
beyond a week in paradise.

“Stranded In Paradise” is written by Tracy Andreen. Based on the Women of Faith Fiction Club novel of the same name by Lori Copeland. The movie, from Johnson Production Group is executive produced by Maura Dunbar and Tim Johnson and produced by Cynthia Graner and Frances Lausell. The film is directed by Bert Kish.
