Straight to Ale to celebrate 4th Anniversary with commemorative beer and party

Thursday, May 1 marks the four year anniversary of when the first Straight to Ale pint was served in the brewery's hometown. To celebrate, Straight to Ale is releasing a special STA 4th Anniversary Ale and will also host a 4th Anniversary Party & Crawfish Boil on Saturday, May 3.

Straight To Ale (3200 Leeman Ferry Road, Huntsville) has come a long way from its humble beginning just four short years ago. What started as a small operation on a three barrel system is now a beautiful facility with a capacity approaching 1,000 barrels per month. The brewery has made and sold over 40 different individual beers in a wide variety of styles and it currently distributes to over 600 accounts in four states. The brewery itself boasts an outdoor biergarten, a very popular pinball arcade, a taproom which features 10 drafts and numerous bottled offerings for on premise enjoyment, and it often acts as a destination for concerts and events with local and regional entertainers. Accolades for the brewery include being named the 2013 Top Brewery in Alabama by RateBeer.com, and voted “Best Huntsville Brewery” three years running in the Valley Planet as well as the “Coolest Bar” two years in a row.

The brewery will mark this four year milestone with the release of their STA 4th Anniversary Ale (or STA4), a hoppy Imperial Red Ale. Richard Partain, Sales Manager at Straight to Ale, describes this beer as having a "big floral nose, nice citrusy bite with a nice malt backbone and a soft, almost creamy mouthfeel." This special release will be available in 22 oz. bombers and on draft in Huntsville and select markets within Straight to Ale's distribution area. STA4 will only be available for a limited time.

Straight to Ale will also celebrate this occasion with a 4th Anniversary Party & Crawfish Boil at the brewery on Saturday, May 3 at 3 p.m. This event will feature a free crawfish boil (while it lasts) and plenty of wonderful Straight to Ale brews including STA4. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Alex Dieterich, and additional food will be available for purchase from Badd Newz BBQ and Sugar Belle Cupcake Truck. The event is free to attend. All you have to do is pay for your beers and any food you would like that is not included in the crawfish boil.

If you are free on Saturday, I urge you to swing by the brewery for the 4th Anniversary Party to celebrate with the Straight to Ale crew. If you cannot make it, no worries because bottles of STA 4th Anniversary Ale will be available soon to get everyone in on the celebration at their own leisure. On a personal note, I would like to raise a glass and extend my congratulations to the folks at Straight to Ale for four great years of brewing. They truly make some world-class brews and have been a great influence on the amazing craft beer culture that we have right here in Alabama. Here's to many more amazing years in the future, guys and gals. Prost!
