Straight to Ale opens bar in Von Braun Center in Huntsville

At tonight's Huntsville Havoc game you will get to enjoy more than just some great hockey at the arena. Local craft beer will get into the action this evening as Straight to Ale (Huntsville) debuts their new brewery sponsored bar in the Von Braun Center (VBC).

Starting on January 11, Straight to Ale will take over the north bar at the VBC and begin a new chapter of the brewery's history by providing quality, local craft beer to the countless number of folks who attend events at this facility. The new bar will allow Straight to Ale to serve up to eight of their offerings on draft to attendees. For tonight's Havoc game against the Mississippi River Kings, the following seven beers will be available for fans to enjoy:

  • Brother Joseph's Belgian Dubbel
  • Intimidator Doppelbock
  • Lily Flagg Milk Stout
  • Monkeynaut IPA
  • Montesano Maibock
  • Stop Work 689 Kolsch
  • Wernher Von Brown Ale

Worry not, the VBC Straight to Ale bar will not be limited to just hockey games. The new bar will be open for all VBC events from here on forward. This venture will allow Straight to Ale to not only reach visitors coming to Huntsville for events, but it will also give the brewery a chance to reach Huntsville natives who may not have been exposed to their beers yet. For those who already know and love the brewery, you can take solace in knowing that the cost of enjoying your favorite Straight to Ale beer at an event will be similar to the beer prices already in place at the VBC. This is a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Beers from Straight to Ale pair wonderfully with just about any event, so make sure to stop by the new bar the next time you visit the VBC. The bar is located just to the right after you climb the steps leading into the arena. In closing, I just want to extend congratulations to all of the folks at Straight to Ale for this new venture. This is a great idea that will do a lot of good for craft beer in Huntsville and Alabama. I wish you luck and I know the new bar will do well. Prost!
