Temperatures climb into the upper 70s and low 80s on Thursday but a powerful cold front will sweep across the state with showers and thunderstorms for Friday and Friday night. Temperatures on Friday will only climb into the low 70s and even cooler 60s for Saturday.
While the Storm Prediction Center keeps the slight risk for severe thunderstorms south of Michigan on Friday, a few strong to severe storms are possible. Large hail and strong gusty wind will be the primary threat. Heavy rain will be possible in locations where the storms persist with many locations receiving at least a half inch of rain.
