The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk for severe weather across all of Lower Michigan for today and tonight with a moderate risk in the Central Plains. Damaging wind and large hail would be the primary threats but a few isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out. Frequently lightning and heavy downpours are also possible. Behind the front we will see a mostly sunny day on Tuesday.

Temperatures today will climb into the upper 80s inland with cooler readings as the lakeshore. Dewpoint temperatures remain in the oppressive 70s pushing heat index values into the low 90s inland. After the cold front finally passes by a cooler and drier air mass returns by Wednesday and into the holiday weekend.
