The Bastille Days in Milwaukee hold their 25th Annual Storm the Bastille Run/Walk on July 9, 20909. Tunner and walkers re-enact the historic French Revolution on the streets of Milwaukee at 9 pm on Thursday, the first evening of t
he French themed festival. Bastille Days runs from July 9 - 12 in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bastille Day, the start of the French Revolution, is France’s most important national holiday and is marked by the historic storming of the Bastille prison by Parisians in the 18th century. This year’s 5K run and 2-mile walk will begin on North Jefferson Street, adjacent to Cathedral Square Park. The course will lead participants through the scenic streets of downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward.

A commemorative Storm the Bastille long-sleeved T-shirt and race number will be provided to registered participants. Participants should be reminded that the event is a “fun run” and times will not be officially recorded. Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers.
After “Storming the Bastille,” participants are invited to enjoy the festival’s world-class entertainment offered on four
stages and throughout festival grounds. This year’s acts include an eclectic mix of Cajun, zydeco, jazz, blues, folk and world music. Headliners on July 9th include sultry jazz songbird Robin Pluer at 6:30 p.m. and The Good Luck Joes at 9 p.m. Other acts throughout the weekend include the Grammy-nominated band The Duhks, Tab Benoit, and Yves Francois et Rocambu Jazz, just to name a few. Bastille Days is presented by East Town Association, Inc., a non-profit downtown Milwaukee business organization that has celebrated Bastille Days in Milwaukee since 1981. Proceeds from the festival are returned to the community through neighborhood improvement programs and civic events such as the popular Jazz in the Park, East Town Market and Gallery Night & Day. Bastille Days is free and open to the public.
Festival hours are: Thursday – Saturday, July 9– 11, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
