Seven dynamic pet parents are now co-authors of my third self published book, Stories Of Multiple Pets – Austin Texas. Residents within our pet friendly city inspired me to create this book.
Luz Garcia shares her life with Tim, her husband, Dixie and Chabelo. One of her stories describes how her canine kiddos reacted when Tim had to travel out of town overnight. Pets have a unique way of communicating with us.
Christina Hardinger, owner of Skillful Paws, wrote a story offering numerous valuable lessons. When you’re a single parent with one child and furry family members who meets her soul mate that also has furry family members life provides educational paths.
Many stray pets roam our communities through no fault of their own. Marisela Hay and her family have adopted a couple of strays. She reveals how they came into her life and reside together under one roof.
Katy McDougall, founder of Teeny’s Friends, conveys the bond individuals have with their canines. In her message she reflects the 911 disaster where a canine saved his guardian from death. She along with others will do what is required to ensure their canines are safe and healthy.
I immediately thought of my mother’s last words when Teresa Carbajal Ravet, owner of Dulce Bread and Book Shop, verbally told me her story at a dinner party. A week before my mother passed away she said, “You’ll be taking care of me”. My response was “sure, ok”. Four years later, a kitten walked into my life while I was visiting friends in her hometown southwest of San Antonio on Father’s Day.
Tara Stermer, owner of Training by Tara, treasures the unconditional love of her furry family members. These four legged members as well as the foster canines she cares for have quickly sensed the depth of her passion. Observing Tara training canines and their guardians explains her recognition within the Austin area.
Maggie Warpenburg is an expert at identifying when sheltered cats require eye medications and treatments. She is dedicated to restoring a cat's quality of life then pairing the feline with a responsible individual or family. Her journey isn’t easy but the results are extremely satisfying.
