A member of the reality show “Storage Wars” committed suicide. TMZ reported on Feb. 11 that Mark Balelo killed himself earlier that day.
Sources reported that Balelo was found dead in his car. The car was parked running in the garage of the auction house Mark owned in Simi Valley, CA.
Balelo had been arrested Saturday on charges related to drugs. TMZ’s sources report that Mark was distraught when we was released from jail and asked his fiancé to stay with him because he was having thoughts of hurting himself.
Balelo and his fiancé talked for several hours on Sunday and he took a long nap, after which he seemed much more stable. The fiancé left him Sunday evening and one of Mark’s employees found him dead in the car Monday morning. Suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning is the assumption, but an autopsy will be done to verify this.
The reality show, which follows a group of people attempt to make profits with items they purchase in storage units, airs Tuesdays on A&E. Mark Balelo appeared on several episodes of “Storage Wars” over the past few seasons.
