“Storage Wars” king Mark Balelo has died. The reality show star was found in his running car inside the garage of his own home, near Los Angeles on Monday. The story is reported by Fox News on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Naturally, suicide is strongly suspected. The autopsy will take place Tuesday, which will likely show the actor and broker died of carbon monoxide poisoning, but that won’t prove he chose to set the suicide scene himself.
Mark Balelo had just been arrested – and released – over the weekend, for alleged possession of methamphetamine. Multiple sources report the “Storage Wars” broker had been depressed following his problems with the law, but such a quick suicide reveals that more is going on behind the scenes.
Mark Balelo had further legal problems concerning the show, itself, with reports that the action was faked. What? A reality show? But in this case, it seems that Balelo has been accused of planting valuable items in lockers, for bidders to fight over. Dave Hester, a former cast member, has filed a lawsuit.
Balelo’s own flamboyant style includes appearing at auctions with huge amounts of money in his pockets. He is best known for returning a million-dollar comic book to Nicolas Cage, from whom it was stolen more than a decade before. Cage, who has had money problems of his own, no doubt is a fan.
There appears to be more to the story.
