On last night's second episode of “Storage Wars: New York,” the auction takes place in Bay Shore, N.Y., in this episode titled, “Bidding in the Rain.” The main characters as introduced are; the Legend (Joe P), the Loudmouth (Chris) and the Conscience (Tad), the Flame (Candy) and the Firecracker (Courtney) and the Hustler (Mike) with the familiar theme song "Money Owns This Town" played with a different beat.
The regulars visited Mr. D’s Self Storage in Long Island. John Luke knows that there is everything from CEOs to lawn maintenance guys living here and expects some good units. Joe P brought his gigantic flashlight because the units are big and dark and he wants to see everything. Candy & Courtney arrive tawking like Long Islanders. Mike B has his big white truck and wants to fill it up; no matter what it is. As he sees the ladies laughing, he decides he is gonna make them pay; big time. Chris and Tad are hoping to score big too.
The first unit is junk piled on top of junk. Mike got it for $275 because Courtney bid him up a few bucks. There were tires with rims that Mike said were worth $2,000 if he cleaned them up a bit, he turned over a bank full of pennies worth about six bucks, and the furniture and even found a spring board for gymnastics. He recognized it because his daughter is in gymnastics. Mike took the spring board to a trainer who gave it a $300 value.
The next one wasn’t much better, Mike called it a hot mess that reminded him of Courtney, who has been annoyed at Mike cutting in front of her more than once on this day. Candy got it for $450. As the girls started looking at their unit, it started pouring. They found pins from the 1939 Worlds Fair and found a collector who valued them at $125.
The next unit had lots of furniture, boxes and enough dust on it to entice Chris and Tad to bid and C&C to bid them up to $1,600 for the guys. They found tons of books, old dresses, ancient furniture, an incubator for baby chicks. They took it to a pheasant farm who valued it at $1,000.
In the end, Mike B sprung to the top with $2, 490; Chris & Tad made $1, 450; Joe P just needed new batteries for his flashlight, and Candy & Courtney lost $60 on this episode of "Storage Wars: New York."
