Please don’t take this article as an exercise in vanity. We all have needs for our data storage these days and usb drive sizes have increased so much in the last few years that its time to take another look at them. Not only has the capacity of the drives changed, but now, the variety of drive styles has also grown to include several forms and types.
The great thing about physical storage is that it is not as expensive as it used to be, and it can be purchased in a variety of larger capacity sizes. I remember when some of the larger sizes were only available in sizes that were close to 1 Gig in size or smaller. Now, I have seen some portable usb drives that are as large as 32 Gig and cost less than fifty dollars.
Personally, I like the drives that you can wear around your neck. Most people I know who have drives usually use the ones that hook to a key chain. Since they are small in size, they can be easy to misplace.
Another nice feature that flash drives have now is that they come in a variety of colors, shapes, as well as sizes, as well as prices, and there are a lot more to choose from these days. There are even wireless drives that make it easy for you to transfer files from computer to your tablet. Lexar makes a high capacity drive that comes in multiple colors. I have also seen a drive that looks like a mini light bulb, and the bulb actually lights up when used.
But I must say that the neatest flash drive I’ve seen is one that is heart shaped and the heart is pulled apart to reveal the usb drive. It also was diamond encrusted, and comes with a silver chain so that it can be worn around the neck. And to top it off, they come in pink, white, and blue diamonds! I thought the drive was so nice, that I purchased one through a special offered by Living Social.
