Last night's episode of "Storage Hunters" was filmed in Sun Valley, Calif. and drew a big crowd, including Desert Dan, who returned to give Brandon and Lori a run for their money. This episode is titled, "Torching the Competition" and the auctioneer is Sean Kelly, who keeps law and order and gives interesting handles to newcomers.
The first unit contains mostly furniture and military items. Brandon starts the bidding at $25, and it quickly escalates until he earns it for $1,100. The Army stuff is cool but there is something wrapped up standing in the corner, and it is a helicopter blade. When they took the military items to an appraiser, he told them that the box with the gauges was a brake bleeding system for aircraft and not worth much, even though the Army paid $9,500 for it. The blade was from the rear of a copter and worth to a collector about $1,000, after negotiating, they sold it to him for$1,500 making a profit of $400.
The next locker is opened, and a cymbal jumps out and creates a noise that nobody expected. The locker contains furniture and clothes, and although Jesse has no interest, he plans to bid up the price so that nobody gets away with a cheap gift. Jesse plays a few games with the bidding, but T-Money gets it for $1,075. When Brandon tells off Jesse, he admits to the cameras that his two goals are; making money and pissing off Brandon. Sean asks T-Money why he liked the locker, and he told him that furniture and instruments were what everyone is looking for. Sean looks over the finds with him and jackpot; gorgeous instruments and even a few band uniforms and hats. Inside one large box is all the makings for a "one-man-band" with a hat, and washboard and all the items for a fun time and a profit of $1,725.
The next locker is furniture and copper piping, giant wire spools and a few curiosities thrown in. Jesse wants this one and will make sure Brandon and Lori do not. Papa Bear likes what he sees too. Desert Dan noticed a motorcycle helmet and a big tarp that he hopes is a motorcycle. The bidding starts and escalates quickly and Desert Dan got it for $2,600. He found a commercial-grade welder and three torches, not the motorcycle he was expecting, but a profit of at least $1,000.
The last locker of the day was neat, with furniture and what looked like it could be beauty parlor contents. However, an armoire with a padlock on it had Brandon and Lori truly wondering. Jesse, after playing games, won the locker for $950. When Green Mile opened the padlocked armoire, there were two wigs inside and Jesse, Green Mile and Sean each had a wig on. That was worth some of the money for the good laugh. With the beautician tools, the wigs, and furniture Jesse came away with $270 and another great day at "Storage Hunters."
