John 10:9-11 (AMP)
I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pasture. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks and lays down His [own] life for the sheep.

As I have shared before several years ago, our family was the victim of theft. A group of young people came into our home while we were gone and helped themselves to items in our home. They were professional criminals who knew exactly what they were after so they were in and out very quickly. They took large and small electronics, expensive jewelry, cash and firearms. Thankfully, we had home insurance that covered the loss and replaced everything that these people had taken from us. The hardest thing to recover in the process was peace of mind. After installing a home security system, our daughters still had trouble sleeping at night or feeling safe in our home when alone. Anger would come and go like waves in the ocean. The idea that someone would have the audacity to come into our home, take what we have worked hard for and have no respect or regard for that which belongs to another is downright insulting and infuriating. It would take a great deal of time and concentrated effort to overcome all these emotions long after the “things” had been replaced. Recently, we have been faced with a potential thief that has once again tried to come into our house and rob our family of joy, peace and love that make up the “abundant”, “to the full”, and “till it overflows” life that Jesus Christ died for us to have. Jesus Christ told us that He is the “Door” and that “anyone who enters in through Me will be saved or will live.” As the “Way” for our life, we no longer have to fear the enemy or his threat to “steal, kill and destroy” our life as live in the refuge that is the Presence of God. It doesn’t matter who or what comes to “take” from you in this life, the Lord is our Protector, Provider, Promoter and Prosperer so whatever the enemy tries to steal the Lord will cultivate in the life of those who call Him Savior and Lord.

Jesus Christ goes on to tell us that He came “that they (we) may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance.” Jesus was not talking about money, houses, cars and toys. He was talking about that which is eternal – faith, hope and love. (I Corinthians 13:13) If we could get past the clutter of our life to find substance in it, we would no longer be subject to thievery but prosper in the Presence of God. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who willingly laid down His Life for his sheep. (That’s us!) No one else has ever or will ever do such a thing for us. He is the only one. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life that allows us to transfer our life from this world into God’s Presence forever by taking a gigantic step in the right direction called righteousness. Those who take this step will never fight to keep what belongs to them again. They will live in the faith, hope and love that is Jesus Christ. They will have all that they need in every season. They will not fear lack. They will live in the prosperity of God. What has the enemy taken from you? What are you holding on to that the world wants to take from you? I have good news for you my friend. The thief in your life will be exposed today. You will take back what the enemy has been trying to take from you. Jesus gave His Life for you to have it so the least we can do is claim it!

Matthew 6:19-21 (AMP)
Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

We must transfer our wealth from worldly things to the Kingdom of God to determine that which is truly worth having. We have been blessed by the Lord. We purposed in our hearts to be obedient to God’s Word and tithe. Many people have decided that tithing is religious or “Old Testament” but I will tell you firsthand that it has worked for me. The Lord has rebuked the devourer just as He promised in His Word. (Malachi 3:11) Does that mean that we are rolling in the “dough”? No not really. But even though I really can’t explain how it happens we always have all that we need and enough to share. It doesn’t work on paper but it works in life. If you move into certain “gated communities” many will have certain dues that are paid to maintain the grounds, gatehouse and exclusive amenities. If you do not pay the monthly or annual dues, it is placed as a lien against your house. God does not make us pay “dues”. We did not have to buy real estate in the Kingdom of God because Jesus Christ took our place and paid in full. We are given the privilege of enjoying all that God has planned and provided for us. The only thing that we are required to do is to maintain our relationship with Jesus Christ. Many want what God has to offer but are not willing to go about it His Way. Frustrated and confused they further add insult to injury with chronic complaining and grumbling at God’s lack of care and consistency. What I have found to be absolutely true is that the more of my life invested in the Kingdom of God the less I am subject to loss including desperation, disappointment and defeat. My life is out of reach from the enemy. He cannot take anything that I am not willing to give. My attachment to the world’s economy decreases as my investment in the Kingdom increases. Less of me equals more of Jesus. When I have Jesus, I have abundance in life as He promised.

The things of this world are subject to destruction. When we ask God for worldly things like more money, we are asking Him for less than His Very Best. Why? Look at the value of money in our current economy, it is worth is shrinking. We are asking the Lord for something that “moth, rust and/or worms can consume and destroy”. These are things that the “thief” can steal. The three things that are eternal are faith, hope and love. Faith in Jesus Christ means that in no matter what state we are in there is the opportunity to be content. Our life is now in the Hands of Jesus and He promised life abundantly. Hope in the Lord is confidence that no matter how bleak things may seem today – we have a prosperous future ahead of us. Love is the basis of our covenant with God. His Unfailing Love and Faithfulness is forever unlike the things of this world that will all be destroyed. The transference of our wealth is a heart condition. It means that nothing in this world is worth losing my soul or the soul of another.

Matthew 24:42-46 (AMP)
Watch therefore [give strict attention, be cautious and active], for you do not know in what kind of a day [whether a near or remote one] your Lord is coming. But understand this: had the householder known in what [part of the night, whether in a night or a morning] watch the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be undermined and broken into. You also must be ready therefore, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his master )has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time? Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is that servant whom, when his master comes, he will find so doing.

When our house was broken into, the first thing the officers did was question us about our children. With two teenage sons, they inquired if any of their friends might be the culprit even going as far as to insinuate that one of them might be involved. I was appalled. Why would my own children take what already belonged to them? It seems ridiculous. Unfortunately, it happens. Children taking from parents, family members “borrowing” with no intent to repay, and so on. There is no boundaries when it comes to stealing. It happens all the time. People stealing from their employer whether taking actual things or just getting paid for not working. We live in a society with a crown of entitlement. Those who work are subject to thievery every day because they have something of worth. I will exit this soapbox and get back on point. We must keep a careful watch over our life to preserve the eternal abundance of faith, hope and love that the Lord has given us. Well, I can’t live on love. You are right it will probably take some cold, hard cash. But you can live and prosper IN His Love.

You must be ready for the Return of the Lord not for the occasional thief. You must make sure that you are not the one who is robbing yourself of the blessings of God by subjecting your life to the curse. Huh? That’s right you can be your own worst enemy. Cultivating faith, hope and love will increase the joy, peace and prosperity in your life. But if you are just working the Word to prosper on the earth, you will always be subject to the robbers in life.

Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP)
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Christ will produce contentment and satisfaction in every heart yielded to Him completely. Such a heart will not crave what belongs to others or be envious waiting for prosperity because they will thrive in faith, hope and love. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. (Hebrews 11:1) Hope is the anchor that keeps you in place while you wait safely in the Presence of the Lord. (Hebrews 6:19) His Love makes it all happen. You just have to turn your life over to the Lord and He will become the “garrison” of your heart as He works His Plan in your life to promote prosperity in every situation. But not the kind the world offers which is really no consolation at all. You must deter the thieves called worry, anxiety, fear and doubt. Silence negative words that kill your harvest. Stop complaining as it is counterproductive. Speak words of life rather than proclaiming death over your harvest. Are you the thief in your own home today? Do you allow the world to penetrate the four walls and disturb your peace? Prosperity begins on the inside and works its way out. Are you providing fertile ground for an abundant harvest? Have you set up markers around it putting the enemy on notice that you belong to Jesus? This is how one prepares for the Coming of the Lord. Those who decide that they want the Kingdom of God more than the things of this world will have all that the Lord has promised and protection from the enemy in life.

Philippians 4:12-13 (AMP)
I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

One of the most powerful weapons that will allow you to prosper in this life is contentment. Contentment allows us to be free. God gives seed to the sower. But those who do not give will never receive. Are you withholding things in your life because of fear that the Lord has told you to give? (John 12:3-8) The disciples struggled with Mary’s gift to Jesus because of its worth. What is valuable to you? Are you willing to give it up for the Lord? People don’t tithe because they have given money more power in their life than God. So they become subject to the world’s economy plain and simple. To transfer your life to God’s Kingdom is to move your mindset to giving. Nothing in this world will make it to Heaven with you not even the clothes on our back. Just your soul! The qualities and potential of our soul are summed up in faith, hope and love. When you give your life away, it is honored by more life. God gives seed to the sower but if you are not sowing than how are you worthy of seed? Contentment in the Lord means that nothing on this earth can satisfy us because we have been made complete in Christ. It has taken a very long journey and many storms for me to begin to see and believe this concept. I am a very stubborn person obviously who enjoys security in every facet of life so when challenged I tend to hold on tighter.

The Lord is teaching me soulful satisfaction that allows me to give “things” away and even those things that are not tangible like a smile, kind gesture, forgiveness, words of encouragement even when I am not happy, ungracious, mad and discouraged. I know that the Lord will supply everything that I need so I don’t miss it when its gone. You will have strength for all things, wisdom in all situations and the ability to thrive in every condition when your heart is filled with faith, hope and love. It is the fortification that you need to keep away the thieves. You are sufficient in the sufficiency of Christ. Let that sink in today and fill you up. The devil cannot take from those in right-standing with God. The enemy cannot steal from you, kill you or destroy you unless you let him. You hold all the cards and the Holy Spirit which is your “yes” and “amen” for every single promise of God. You do not have to do without but prosper in the abundance of God designated for you by the Father. You must free your heart and mind to receive all that He has rather than trying to hold on to the life you made. This is how we “leave no room or foothold” for the devil in our life to send robbers and perpetrators into our life. (Ephesians 4:27-28)

Plead the Blood of Jesus around you, your family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances. Pray even for your enemies, this is not time to point fingers. Ask the Lord to permeate every facet of your life today so that it will prosper. His Holy Spirit will work on you from the inside. Read the Word of God and empower your Spirit to prosper. This is how you close and lock the door in the enemy’s face. He cannot go where Jesus reigns. He is forbidden. You must guard your heart and mind to begin to live the life God intended for you have and that Jesus Christ died to make a reality. Jesus Christ has promised a life of abundance for you! It is up to you to make it happen!

Revelation 3:2-3 (AMP)
Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight. So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. In case you will not rouse yourselves and keep awake and watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and you will not know or suspect at what hour I will come.
