Stop-motion animated movie 'The Addams Family' in theaters 2014

From the wonderful fantasy world of Tim Burton, “The Addams Family” stop-motion 3D animated film comes to theaters in 2014.

The animated comedy-horror flick will be released by Universal Pictures.

Burton provides the canvas for the ghoulish family from the original creator, Charles Addams. The film will include Addams’ original drawings.

The Addams Family” will not include the familiar scenarios from the television series or the two full-length feature films that starred Raul Julia and Angelica Huston.

Word was out in March of last year that Burton had plans to invest in the Charles Addams’ New Yorker illustrations and would put them in a film. The inspiration of the 60s television show and two films came from the original drawings. MTV connected with Burton’s representatives and found “There was no truth to the story. Tim has not lined up any of his upcoming projects.”

The news was debunked for the time but now it is a project in production mode.

Producer Christopher Meledandri announced “The Addams Family” is happening and that Burton will be at the helm of the project. Why not? “The Addams Family” is definitely right up Burton’s cemetery.

At this time, there is no word as to who will be behind the characters in terms of voices. The stop-animation will add to the quality of the film and Burton is definitely cut out to be director.

Watch for “The Addams Family” in theaters in 2014. Informational will be updated as it comes in.
