Saturday, April 27th, stoner-rock is on tap, as The Blank Club goes headlong, three-deep into the dusky darkness.
Black Pussy - the Portland, OR psych-rock outfit intent on proving there are still some Portlanders who know just how wet, dank and slimy real rock can be - headline the show, touring off their debut full-length, On Blonde. Their dedication to the three ‘W’s of rock (weed, wine, women) fuel their hard rock, thc-infested musical dreams.
Local, heavy-blues masterminds, Dark Earth, roost in the primary support slot, in what will be their last show for a spell. The Doom-rock trio will go on hiatus after the weekend to begin recording their first, full-length for San Jose’s F.U. Hollywood. F.U. Hollywood is an art-progressive organization, committed to offering creative options to artists in the ways of production, distribution and education. Visit for more info. Read my review of their first E.P., “42012,” HERE.
Opening the evening, San Francisco’s Disasteroid provides a fitting bit of sludge-rock in the vein of the Melvins, Mastodon and Queens of the Stone Age. The act draws from a dirge-rock movement of the Seattle/Minneapolis post-punk 90s, turning out some black-out delicious, rhythm-heavy riffs.
The show is 21+, the price of admission is $10, doors are at 9 p.m.. For more hit up http://www.theblankclub.com
