Linkin Park's frontman Chester Bennington is touring with STP since Scott Weiland was fired from the band. Bassist Robert DeLeo finally revealed in an interview with FasterLouder in Sept. 13 the reasons for letting former vocalist Scott Weiland go. Despite it hasn’t been easy, DeLeo said they (STP band members) were tired of Weiland attitude. “It wasn’t an overnight thing, it was building for many, many years and I just think that we tried to do everything we could.”
As for Chester Bennington, he was the first choice of a frontman for STP, even though the fact that Linkin Park is still his priority is indubitable. For Erick Kretz, Robert and Dean DeLeo, they've admired Bennington's voice for a long time. Eventually, they've been working along with Bennington in the new EP called 'High Rise' which will be out in stores on Oct. 8 through their own record label Play Penn LLC and distributed by ADA. The five tracks EP includes the radio single 'Out of Time'.
In two days, the exclusive South Florida show will take place at the BB&T Center in Sunrise starting at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the general admission, STP Meet & Greet packages are available for this date. Also, the rock band FILTER will be the supporting act. Other Florida cities include Orlando, Fort Meyers, St Petersburg and Jacksonville. The tour will conclude with five dates at the popular Soundwave Festival in Australia in 2014.
