Stone Sour to tour US in 2014

Stone Sour will be hitting the road again in January for a US tour in continuing support of their most recent release, the House Of Gold and Bones. Pop Evil and Stolen Babies have been announced as supporting bands. The tour makes a stop here in Boston January 22nd, 2014 at The House Of Blues before heading out West. There is a slight twist this time around, as guitarist Jim Root will be absent from the tour, according to an official announcement on the band's Facebook page:

"With an impending Slipknot album on the horizon, Jim will not be touring with Stone Sour this winter. Everyone involved is okay with the decision and our mutual friend Christian Martucci will be filling in on guitar. It was a difficult decision, but as the fans have wanted another Stone Sour tour and Jim had responsibilities to the writing process with Slipknot, we feel this is the best decision where everyone wins."

No word on when that Slipknot record will be released but rumors have pointed to sometime next year. This may be Stone Sour's last tour for a while so get your tickets and see them before it's too late. You can pick up House Of Gold and Bones Part 1 & 2 in stores or online, as well as the newly released paperback comic which is based off the album's story line.
