Stone Sour to play intimate Irving Plaza concert in January

The Corey Taylor-fronted Stone Sour has just announced two local concert dates for early 2014, including a January 18 show at the 1,000 ticket capacity Irving Plaza.

Touring behind their double album House Of Gold & Bones, Stone Sour blitzed the area last spring, playing Terminal 5, the Wellmont Theater and The Paramount. Despite nearly sold out attendance at those mid-sized venues, this January tour will see the band first playing the tiny Irving Plaza before hitting New Jersey's Starland Ballroom, which can hold about 2,500 fans.

A Citibank presale is available for the Irving Plaza show right now, with the main onsale starting Friday, and an American Express presale kicks off for Starland Wednesday morning with all tickets becoming available on Thursday. Tickets for both shows should go fast, with the Irving Plaza date at risk for an almost immediate sell-out, so grab tickets as soon as possible.

With Slipknot rumors heating up, this might be one of the last Stone Sour runs for awhile, so expect Corey & company to make it a good one. Support will come from Pop Evil and Stolen Babies.
