Stone Sour rocked Club Nokia (Photos)

Stone Sour brought their “House of Gold and Bones Part I” tour to Club Nokia, on Feb. 13. OTHERWISE and Papa Roach were the opening acts.

Jim Root and Josh Rand are the guitarists, Roy Mayorga is the drummer, Johny Chow is the bassist and Corey Taylor is the lead vocalist and guitarist of Stone Sour.

Stage lights dimmed and those in attendance began to chant Taylor’s first name. Stone Sour began their set with “Gone Sovereign”. Taylor requested everyone to put their hands up, doused them with a bottle of water and some clapped their hands rhythmically to the beat.

Taylor walked on stage and strummed his guitar, to start the encore. He began with the first verse of Alice in Chain’s “Nutshell” and followed it with Stone Sour’s “Bother”. The majority of the troop helped sing the first verse and went onto help him with the chorus, after he stepped away from the microphone. He complimented how amazing they were and they cheered in response. They continued to sing along with him and helped him with a portion of the second verse.

After completing the second verse of “Bother”, Taylor let out a yell into the microphone and it echoed through the speakers. He gave the gathering their own applause, kept his hands in praise form, bowed his head and stepped away from the microphone. As he was about to say something, he waved his arms toward him for more cheers. He motioned his hands up and down like a conductor’s baton and had the orchestra-like crowd hold their cheers, as if their voices were musical notes.

Spectators continued to sing with Taylor, for the last two choruses of “Bother”.
“I’ll keep slipping farther but once I hold on,” Taylor sang.
“Once I hold on”, the audience followed.
“Yeah!” Taylor yelled as he stepped away from the microphone, praised the onlookers and followed it with his right hand over his heart. Then, they continued to chant his name.

“Through Glass” followed “Bother”, as the rest of Stone Sour accompanied him. Mayorga, Root, Rand and Chow walked on stage and chimed in, after another. “The Travelers, Pt. 2”, “Last of the Real” and “30/30-150” ended the encore.

“Absolute Zero”, “Mission Statement”, “Hell & Consequences”, “Made of Scars”, “A Rumor of Skin”, “Reborn”, “Do Me a Favor”, “RU486” and “Say You’ll Haunt Me” were also part of Stone Sour’s set.
