Stone Sour, who performed in Denver Tuesday for Rockstar Uproar Fest, scored the second highest debut on the charts this week, coming in at number 6 with Audio Secrecy, their third studio album. Audio Secrecy sold 46,000 units this week, and is the second consecutive top 10 debut for the band. They also claimed the top spot on the iTunes Rock Album chart, as well as top 5 placement on charts in Germany, Japan and Austria, and top 10 in the U.K. and Australia.
But then Stone Sour are no strangers to hits or the music scene - lead vocalist Corey Taylor and lead guitarist Jim Root split their time between Stone Sour and their other band, Slipknot. Stone Sour originally formed in 1992, but after five years, went on hiatus while Taylor and Root performed with Slipknot. They reunited in 2002 and have earned three Grammy nominations since then, including Best Metal Performance for the singles "Get Inside," "Inhale," and "30/30-150."
They've also been recently featured on Cinemax's "Max Tour Stories," and are on tour with Uproar Fest, with Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed, which played at the Comfort Dental Amphitheater Tuesday.
