An elderly Yorki dog named Toto, was recently brought to the The San Francisco SPCA by his guardian, who had an amazing but frightening story to tell.
Toto was stolen from his fenced-in yard in early 2011. Eight months later he was returned to his guardian's doorstep, in a crate, with multiple injuries including missing front teeth and a missing left eye. His guardian rushed him to a local vet hospital but couldn't afford all of the treatment Toto needed.
The SF SPCA Veterinary Hospital is now helping Toto get the extensive medical care that he needs, and his guardian says Toto is slowly returning to the sweet, trusting dog that he was before the abduction.
