Stolen plane DUI: Drunken man took off and landed several times

Stolen plane DUI suspect took off and landed at least three times at the Boulder City, Nevada airport. Paul Michael Waddle was charged by the Las Vegas Police Department with obstructing a police officer, DUI involving an aircraft and unlawful taking of an aircraft. According to Fox 12 Oregon on Mar. 4, the owners of the plane are Scenic Airlines.

According to Waddle's arrest report, police were called to the Boulder City airport before 11:30 p.m. Sunday concerning the theft of a white Cessna Caravan.

Stolen plane DUI suspect took off and landed another two times after police arrived at the airport. After the fifth landing, officers took the man down and handcuffed him. His preliminary blood alcohol content was .132. According to the police report Waddle had all the signs of someone who was very drunk. The police noticed his slurred speech and watery, bloodshot eyes as well.

'In the 20-plus years I've been here, it's the first time we've done a felony stop on an airplane,' said Sgt. John Glenn with the Boulder City Police Department.

The stolen plane DUI suspect was injured and taken to a local hospital. The white Cessna plane was reported stolen Sunday night.
