Ambitious former rodeo queen Harlee Jo Holiday must fix Oak Whitlock’s broken heart if she’s ever going to get him to help rescue her stolen horses. The only trouble is even Oak’s dog and horse can’t stand to be around him.
Brooding Oak Whitlock can’t get his life on track. That is, until Harlee Jo comes riding in with her hopes and dreams. Between her and her stolen horses, will Oak learn you have to climb right back in the saddle?
“Stolen Horses, Stolen Hearts” is Cindy A. Christiansen’s first self-published novella. She has five full-length books published through Sweet Cravings, a division of Secret Cravings Publishing. Her other full-length titles are “Caskets and Corruption”, “Love on Laird Ave”, “Braving the Blaze”, “Hazardous Hideaway”, and “Not Quite Zen”.
“I wrote “Stolen Horses, Stolen Hearts” and published it for 99 cents to give readers a chance to get familiar with my writing style,” Christiansen said. “I enjoyed writing this novella so much that I plan on writing others.”
Christiansen writes sweet romance, with humor and suspense. Her books are known for dealing with a serious issue. Her past titles have discussed domestic abuse, animal abuse, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, healthcare for baby boomers and even Attention Deficit Disorder. This latest title looks at the issue of stealing horses and selling them for meat.
Because of her love of dogs, Christiansen includes them in her books and features them on her covers. She donates a portion of her proceeds to organizations that help abused and abandoned dogs.
“I support Friends In Need Animal Sanctuary in Eagle Mountain, UT,” the author says. “and the Petco Foundation, and the Utah Animal Adoption Center.”
“Cindy A. Christiansen's books are delightful reading because she is a master wordsmith. Unlike most of today's novels, her grammar, word use, sentence structure and descriptions are not common and would be accepted as college reading, but it's not too elevated for the average reader. Her books always give an outstanding read, in an almost-lost style. I have found hem thoroughly enjoyable on many levels. The average reader will not know why they like her books, they will just like them!” says Talma J. Day, Educator and mother of 4
