Everyone was welcome when the gates opened to the 3rd Annual Kwanzaa Festival in San Jose, Calif. Festival organizers and vendors were geared up to greet festival-goers with a community celebration that honored the seven principles of Kwanzaa: Unity, Self Determination, Collective Works & Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith.

International festival favorite, Sista Monica, a blues, soul, and gospel singer-songwriter, was the headliner at the third annual San Jose Kwanzaa Festival. Ms. Monica Parker, lead singer of Sista Monica, describes her music as “a cross between up-tempo blues, Chicago style, Southern soul and gospel music.”

Following ten years of strong authentic Japanese restaurant cooking in the North San Francisco Bay, the operators of MannaJPT food truck debuted a mobile truck menu this year featuring Japanese comfort food with a made-to-order style menu. MannaJPT also joined in the Kwanzaa Festival in the International Food Court.
