Here is a pattern you might like to work up in purple and black. You will need two balls of Lion Brand Cotton-Ease or other cotton yarn you have on hand. With straight needles #6 cast on 45 stiches. Knit in stocking stitch or use a pattern you enjoy stitching. Make front and back pieces that measure12” x 10 ½”. Sew three sides together leave opening for the top. Then make an eye cord with 5 stitches. Knit this cord about 48” long for handles. Weave cord through the top of the bag coming out in the center back. Poke ends of cord into the corners of the bag and knot on the inside to secure. This makes straps for you to use your bag as a backpack. This is for small adults or children. You can make everything a little larger if you like.
Happy knitting,
