Stir Cooking School releases new August calendar

It’s the time of year to celebrate and give your summer some flare with legendary and spicy dishes at Stir Cooking School. Their educational classes offer a unique and exciting experience for all levels of expertise throughout the month of August. Cooks can enjoy an array of classes, ranging from a class celebrating the memory of famous French cuisine chef, Julia Child, to a sizzling Mexican style dinner with “Celebrating Julia Child,” and “All About Hatch Green Chiles.”

Guided by Stir’s professional chefs, students will have the opportunity to commemorate Julia Child by learning how to recreate four of her famous dishes, during “Celebrating Julia Child” on August 15th, starting at 6:30 p.m. The menu consists of Pissaladiere Cream of Leek and Potato Soup; Coq au Vin Choux Bruxelles Etuves au Beurre (Brussels Sprouts Braised in Butter) and Chocolate Roulade. Pricing is $75 per person.

Later in the month, cooks will learn how to utilize spicy chiles with tips on how to store them all year long, during “All About Hatch Green Chiles” on August 29th, starting at 6:30 p.m. The menu consists of Pineapple and Roasted Hatch Salsa with Lime Chips; Hatch Chile Skillet Cornbread with Whipped Honey Butter; Hatch Chile Chicken Enchiladas with Oaxaca Cheese; Yukon Gold, Bacon and Hatch Green Chile Gratin; and Shrimp and Hatch Chile Quesadillas. Pricing is $75 per person.

Owned by Denver native, Chef Katy Hume, Stir first opened for business in November 2010. Stir offers a variety of cooking classes for all ages and skill levels including: baking, date night, holiday cooking, vegetarian, wine pairing, farmers market, kids cooking, mixology, International cooking and family friendly, among others. The classes are a personal experience, with the maximum class size of 18 students.
