Coming off the biggest win of his career, Stipe Miocic followed it up with another solid win by outpointing Gabriel Gonzaga in the co-main event at UFC on FOX 10.

The Independence, Ohio native won 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 on the judges’ scorecards at the United Center in Chicago. The fight aired live on Saturday night on FOX.

Gonzaga came out aggressive in the first round blasting Miocic with heavy leg kicks and looking to land the overhand right. As the round and fight wore on, Gonzaga began to significantly slow down and the No. 8 ranked UFC heavyweight began to capitalize.

The former collegiate wrestler and baseball player used his superior technical boxing to capitalize on Gonzaga’s cardio issues in the second and third round. Gonzaga attempted to try to the drag the fight to the ground numerous times but was out struck 66 to 16 over the final two rounds.

With the win, Miocic improves his record to 11-1 overall and 5-1 in the UFC.

With the loss, Gonzaga drops to 16-8 and ends his two-fight winning streak.
