The Wilmington Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and over 30 churches host local Community Back-2-School Bash this Saturday to provide 1,500 bookbags with school supplies to local youth.

The Wilmington Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (WIMA), New Beginning Christian Church (NBCC) and over thirty churches, businesses, fraternities, organizations, etc., have partnered together to sponsor the “2014 Community Back-2-School Bash” Saturday August 23, 2014 from 11am-6pm at the Martin Luther King Center, located at 401 S 8th St. “Our purpose is to provide 1,500 inner-city youths with free book-bags filled with grade appropriate school supplies, free hair-cuts, free food and basic resources/information to start the new school year. In addition, we have a School Uniform Exchange Program where parents can bring one uniform and exchange it for a gently used uniform”, says coordinator Pastor Robert Campbell of New Beginning Christian Church.

Donations are still being accepted. The average cost to purchase and fill a book-bag with school supplies is $25 per child. Please consider making a charitable contribution to purchase book-bags/supplies for as many children as possible. The children are required to have 2 or 3 inch binders, we welcome all used binders, business monogramed pens, pencils or highlighters. All supplies and financial contributions are needed on or before August 21st.

New Beginning Christian Church has elected to be the host and fiscal sponsor. All charitable contributions should be made payable to: New Beginning Christian Church, (501C3), EIN# 41-2228873. Please reference 2014 Community Back-2-School Bash.
