Still In An Active Pattern....

The next seven days ahead

So we spent yet another day below freezing as we've failed to reach 32 degrees at Philly International since Monday! After a low of 19 we only reached 26 degrees; that was at 11:05 in the morning BEFORE the snow showers began! Some areas received a couple of inches, but officially at the airport just three tenths of an inch(0.3") was recorded this afternoon. This was a pre-frontal line of snow showers as the cold front is still out in the Great Lakes and will push through overnight.

Hang on as temperatures go on a bit of a roller coaster for the upcoming with; rain/snow shower chances accompany the roller coaster as well

Overnight lows will be in the middle and upper teens with a few snow showers(that won't accumulate such as during the day) and although we'll have some late clearing that gusty northwest wind between 15-20mph will prevent the "mild" air from the day to completely mixing out.

Sunday will start off sunny, but then clouds move in by the afternoon; we stay dry however, but it will remain cold with highs in the middle 20s. Overnight into Monday temperatures rise with milder air working in and will also ensure that we will mostly have rain(maybe a quick burst of snow or sleet at the start) with temperatures FINALLY getting above freezing after almost a week of them failing to reach that mark! This leads to rain changing to some wet snow by late Monday afternoon once temperatures drop in response to a cold front coming through. This means we'll have highs in the lower 40s, but then lows will dip down into the lower 20s. Tuesday morning we'll start with temperatures in the lower 20s, but they will actually drop back a few degrees during the afternoon.

Wednesday's just brutally cold with highs in the upper teens, but then we finally get more of a zonal flow(cold air to the north, warm air to the south; we stay in between) with highs ranging from the lower 30s on Wednesday to the lower 40s by the end of the week.
