American Idol judge Steven Tyler will discuss the current season, overcoming a drug addiction and Aerosmith on a NBC special announced Thursday. Slated to air in two parts, kicking off May 1 on Dateline, the exclusive interview precedes Tyler's forthcoming memoir "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir".
While it unclear what Tyler will reveal at this point, sources say the two part special is a "candid' one.
"The interview will focus on Steven Tyler's triumphant year that includes a new book, Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir, (Ecco) and his role on "American Idol." Tyler also speaks candidly about overcoming drug addiction, his family and Aerosmith," reports NBC.
The two part special kicks off on Dateline Sunday, May 1 at 7pm ET/6pm CT and wraps on the 'Today' show, Monday, May 2.
'Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir' is due in stores Tuesday, May 3.
