Steven Tyler showed up for the final set of auditions for this season’s “American Idol” singing competition in Oklahoma City last night, decked out in full drag. Steven was the final act of the night and paraded around in a grey animal-print dress and long blonde wig. Tyler introduced himself as "Pepper LaBeija from the House of LaBeija", a nod to the late Harlem drag performer of the same name, according to Digital Spy. But that wasn’t necessarily the weirdest act of the night to audition. That crown may belong to ventriloquist Halie Hilburn, who started off her performance with a yodeling bear puppet that she said was a dog.
“Aerosmith” front man Steven Tyler, who judged on “American Idol” for the previous two seasons, showed up for the final night of season 12 auditions on Fox last night, sporting high heels and bright red lipstick.
Tyler was a big hit with returning judge Randy Jackson, as well as new judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. “I just wanted to come by and say hello to everybody… I tried so hard, [but] no Hollywood”, Steven said.

“Idol” hopeful Anastacia Freeman screeched through a rendition of Toni Braxton's “Unbreak My Heart”, reducing some on the panel into laughter, according to Hollywood.com.
The judges insisted they weren't laughing at her though. Randy Jackson asked her who told her to audition and Freeman answered it was “God”.
After the four judges unanimously voted no for sending Anastacia through to Hollywood, she ripped into them saying she'll never listen to Mariah Carey again, and never listened to Nicki Minaj because she worships the devil.
Halie Hilburn began her act with a yodeling hand puppet named Oscar that she called a dog, but which looked more like a bear. After the judges suggested she ditch it, she gave a decent performance that was enough to get three out of four judges to send her through to the next round.
“Idol” then launched into a truly bizarre video clip about the puppet becoming a beggar on the street who later ends up wasting away in a dumpster. Head scratching stuff here.
“Hey, I think Boston is in your future”, joked Randy Jackson, as Steven Tyler’s Pepper mooned the judges during his or her exit from the stage.
“American Idol” airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
