Steven Tyler may make judging look easy on American Idol, but the rock star needs time off too. The artist dished on how he takes time off and it appears that all he needs to do is hang out with Johnny Depp and play some music to relax. Talking about this battery recharging formula on Thursday with Ryan Seacrest, the entertainer makes it sound like Depp has become his new pal.
“On my time off I just go to the bottom of my hill and hang out with Johnny Depp for a few hours. I get my batteries recharged,” said Steven Tyler during the On Air With Ryan Seacrest show. “I brought him over to the studio, and he gave me the sweetest guitar.”
So can Johnny Depp sing as well as Steven Tyler? Not according to Tyler who shares he does play the guitar well and can sing moderately OK, but Depp's forte appears to be acting in the movies.
“He acts better than anything,” quipped Steven Tyler. Since Steven Tyler and Aerosmith is going on tour from June to August, it’s good the two entertainers don’t have to worry about being anything more than friends because if Johnny Depp could sing as good as Steven Tyler, there might be a problem. However all looks secure for the American Idol judge as he returns to the show next week to make more cuts for the reality competition to find the next American Idol.
