Actor and martial arts expert, Steven Seagal, has been helping to train a volunteer posse members to protect schools from shootings in Maricopa County. In report by the Chicago Tribune, dated Feb. 9, Steven Seagal was recruited by Sheriff Joe Arpaio to help keep schools safe.
Steven Seagal is a volunteer member of Sheriff Joe's posse. He helped train 48 other volunteers to properly respond to a school shooting. This training included room-to-room searches and was conducted at the school in Fountains Hills school, northeast of Phoenix.
Sheriff Joe, known as “America's Toughest Sheriff,” is working hard ot keep children in Maricopa County safe. He has also been known to take a tough stance on crime as well as illegal immigration. Sheriff Joe has dispatched the volunteer posse to patrol schools. This was in response to the school shooting in Newtown in mid-December.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio's volunteer posse consists of 3,450 men and women. Many are trained and qualified, just as regular deputies, to carry guns. All posse members are volunteers; none of the men and women are paid for the work the do.
