The Steve Wilkos Show took a violent turn when Steve was attacked during a taping of his show.
Wilkos was hit in the head with a metal bowl that was thrown by one of the guests of the show. In fact, he was temporarily blinded as the metal bowl hit him above his eye.
The former “Jerry Springer” bodyguard was left with no serious injuries after all was said and done.
The Wilkos Show was taping “My daughter tried to poison me” segment when the fight broke out. The metal bowl was a prop on stage. It was grabbed by one of the guests and flung at another guest; however, it hit Steve Wilkos during the brawl.
The metal bowl has since been bolted down to the table to prevent future injuries during taping.
An offshoot of the “Jerry Springer Show,” the “Steve Wilkos” show covers emotional topics and invites guests who have experienced events in their lives surrounding the topic. Often similar to the “Jerry Springer Show,” fights ensue as emotions run high.
Wilkos used to throw metal chairs against walls on his show, to intimidate guests who are accused of abuse or child molestation. The gesture was to inform the guest they were not allowed to sit on his stage until the process of a lie detector test proved the guest guilty or not guilty.
