Steve Roman and Dave Ginolfi win their Lites Heat races in Baltimore Friday (Photos)

Steve Roman from Apollo, PA and Dave Ginolfi from Budd Lake, NJ start off the racing at the AMSOIL Arenacross in Baltimore by winning their heat races in the AX Lites class.

Steve Roman was in the first heat race of the night program and he had a nice front row pick at the gate which help him grab a fourth place start. He slowly passed his way into the lead without slowing his pace despite several crashes he had to avoid. There were also times when his feet would be ripped from the pegs while skimming the tops of the whoops along the wall of the arena. With all this happing in the short amount of time it takes to complete a heat race Steve Roman still took the win to put himself in the AX Lites main Friday January 11, 2013 where he went on to finish sixth.

Dave Ginolfi had a much easier time once he was in the lead. Of course it is always eaiser when you start at the front. Dave did not get the holeshot but he was right there with Nick Hardacre from Dayton, OH. Once Dave passed for the lead he started to gap the rest of the field and put himself easily into the AX Lites main event where he finished third for another podium in his long AX career.
